Causes of Human Suffering

Much of the suffering experienced in our lives is a carryover from misconceptions and wrongdoings incurred in previous lifetimes. The problems of today were created by the thoughts and actions of yesterday. What is happening in our lives is the result of past causes. If we recognize the cause, unpleasant conditions will improve and gradually be eliminated. Simultaneously, we must guard that the same type of mistakes are not repeated. It is when we deliberately go against the higher laws of life that illnesses and discord become a constant companion. When humans ignore the laws of nature and goodness, they invite negative forces into their life system. Many illnesses can be averted through a change in consciousness. Good old common sense, disciplining yourself, making healing choices and monitoring physical activities as well as guarding the gate to the mind will discourage negative forces from using you as a vehicle for entertainment.

The purpose in living in a physical form is to build a temple for the spirit within. As we evolve and embrace the spirit of who we really are, the personality will release itself from the wheel of suffering and illusion. Generally speaking, humans ignore the laws of harmony and the esoteric meaning of life. Suffering is man's own making. What is in the heart, the consciousness, out pictures in daily life. Man receives what he created. Change consciousness; change the outcomes in your life. What appears as an injustice is the balancing of the scales. No one can really know the full story by appearance alone. It is past history as well as present life experiences that create and mold the soul and mind. The energy whether positive or negative follows you throughout your journey. Understanding how our thoughts and actions follow us, it is also understood that there is no innocent victim.

Everything that manifests on all levels of consciousness occurs first as an idea. In the purest sense, the answer to human suffering is found in the great truth that suffering is directly linked to an individuals conscious separation from the Source of Life. The thinking mind, as a result, is confused. It looks for God out there somewhere instead of recognizing that an individual is an aspect of God and that aspect is within. Because the average person does not comprehend what it really is, the human is subject to all the illusions, darkness and confusion that spiritual ignorance provides. It is as if a thick veil hides the truth from the mind. The inner man, his heart, may intuitively know what is real but it is not until both the mind and heart merge and work as a team does the veil lift sufficiently to expose what is real and what is false. Once the veil is lifted, the suffering will lift considerably because understanding truth breaks through the mesmerism of unenlightened thinking.

Words Fail Us in More Ways Than One

Another day of heavy snow in our area. It reminds me of the various covers we wear over our intelligence and soul. The snow plows will arrive in the afternoon and then tomorrow or another day the covering begins all over again. It has been said repeatedly throughout time that the more the thinking conscious mind strives to express in words, the Supreme One's Idea, the greater and more abject the failure.
Why? Because that which is Science, ideas beyond human consciousness, cannot be expressed purely from the point of the human personality.

Our awakening is a step by step science. When science is coupled with selfless love and devotion to the Source behind the appearance, we get somewhere in the area of true understanding. A strange thing happens to us when we return to the Garden. When the physical personality is subdued and the impersonal spirit breaks through, we tend to be both impersonal in our approach to life and very compassionate and understanding of the stories of others. To be conscious and survive in our earthly mission, it became necessary for us to enter into all conditions of Earth life. To achieve the Idea behind creation, it was necessary to develop a thinking mind and a body capable of expressing the intent of our Creator.

This is a big order because descending souls usually lose sight of their purpose in being in flesh. It is like we are all near-sighted. If we lose the sight that can see the Soul of things, confusion reigns. So, we wear imperfect lenses until the day that the Light begins to shine again on the shadowy mist. According to mystic studies, this condition had to happen for the soul to continue its return to matter. Of course, when the soul forgets, it loses confidence, becomes confused and every type of deception and falsity surfaces. This is the process that is necessary to evolve a human mind and will, a body that will have the strength to eventually return to the Divine Idea. This is devolution and evolution, which eventually lead to BE. To understand the words I write, you must open the higher part of Mind and leap from a human sense of self to the eternal True Self.

A Close Look at Angels

Down through the ages, millions of people famous and otherwise have felt the grace and uplifting power of angels. I have decided to tell you about angels because these beautiful and inspiring beings have been a large part of my life and perhaps yours. They are always with us whether we actually see them or not. We are living in a time when invisible helpers have become popular and actually visible. While angels have always been with us, it is almost as if we just discovered them. There are thousands of people from all walks of life who have been helped, guided, literally saved, inspired or comforted by embodiments of goodness, generosity and hope. People are eager to reveal their close encounters.

Stories of visions and firsthand experiences with angels have been around since the earliest days of written history. All the major religions of the world...Hinduism, Judaism, Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam , Zoroastrianism and the visions of Shamans accept angels as an intervening force between a Supreme Power and the human race. Religious scholars, in general, simply say the number of angels is too great to count. Most modern versions of the Bible carry approximately 300 references to angels and their duties here on earth. The earliest appearance of the shining ones is found in Genesis. They are messengers of God.

I will add a few tidbits such as the records of the ancient Jewish writings and laws stating that every Jew has 11,000 angels. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that each human is assigned a guardian angel at birth who remains close by during the entire life experience. In the Islamic religion, everyone is said to have two angels...one to record good deeds and the other to keep track of bad deeds. Angels are also important figures throughout the New Testament. The first wave of awareness sharing revelations regarding invisible celestial helpers first came to human attention through religion. Since this is a popular subject, I will continue with this delightful topic for the next couple of weeks.
