Angels and the Unexpected

At some point, I will include a few of my angel stories but for now I have a few other stories to share such as the one coming from a former professor of religion and philosophy at Smith College. S. Ralph Harlow described an astonishing encounter with a group of angels, which he and his wife, Marion, experienced while strolling in the woods near Ballardville, Massachusetts. They heard a murmur of muted voices in the distance and assumed they had company in the woods. Although they saw nothing, the voices came nearer. When they looked up about ten feet above them were a floating group of angels. For a few split seconds, the angel faces were perfectly clear to the couple. The veil between the world of matter and the world of spirit was lifted. Imagine how this man and wife felt!

Funny thing about seeing angels. You do not have to be a member of a church or actually believe in them. I remember reading a story about a group of communists who had a similar experience in 1985. A Russian Space Scientist defected and told what happened to six cosmonauts aboard the Soyus 7 space station. The Russian cosmonauts had been orbiting earth for an incredible 155 days when a band of angels miraculously appeared out side of their space craft. Three of the Russian scientists were working on routine medical experiments when suddenly they were blinded by a brilliant orange Light from outside the orbiting laboratory. The scientists saw seven giant figures in the form of humans, but with wings and mist-like halos. They appeared to be hundreds of feet tall with a wingspan as great as a jetliner. That is big! The angels remained for approximately ten minutes smiling at the stunned Soviets. Convinced they had been hallucinating, the trio kept the amazing sighting to themselves. Twelve days later, something else happened. A group of seven giant figures identical to the other visitors paid them a visit. This time three more of the atheistic scientists witnessed the incredible sight.

Angels are here whether we believe it or not. They guide, guard, warn, comfort, teach us or simply serve as a friend and companion. They may appear to be human-like or as radiant flashes of light, a soft and unseen touch or as a Voice who often speaks to us in times of crisis.
