Leave of Absence

This is my 113 post. I will be taking a leave of absence while I compile a companion workbook for my recently published book, Be-Embracing the Mystery.
Many children, relatives, well-meaning friends and strangers have been asking questions about God. What will be shared is knowledge based on experience.

Experience is the true teacher. When enough of us have identical experiences that are supportive of the teachings of the mystics and masters, then we know with confidence that we are not only on the same journey but on the same road. The road can be hazardous throwing us many curves. The stops that fill us with awe and beauty make the trip worthwhile.

The workbook will include five questions for each chapter. I will be suggesting that the reader also have a spiral notebook handy so his/her own answers can be written first before reading the comments that I have to offer. It will be your own stimulus package. Taking the time to think deeply not only awakens the spiritual senses, it provides us the much needed clarity, peace and joy that we deserve. Until the next time...I love you.

Free from Ego

Who is it that feels guilt and pride? The ego. It is the ego who says this is too much to do, I cannot stay with the plan, meditation is too time consuming. For many people, the idea of controlling their emotions feels absolutely impossible. Patience is the key word here. We have been acting out harmful feelings for years; transformation is not an overnight occurrence.

Remember, it is the fear, confusion, thoughts that harm and actions that separate that bring us down into the depths of despair. A strong ego really does a number on the inner spirit. We meditate not only for peace, which is needed, but to clear out the blockages, the extra baggage that prevents our being whole. Meditation has a far greater value than simply being peaceful for twenty minutes and then returning to the same old routine of disorder.

We are embarrassed by our reactions and the negative energy created when we forget who we are. Try and focus on the higher immortal pure and perfect spirit self who is changeless. The real healer is to repeatedly identify with the true Self. The more you actually do this, the more the subconscious impressions will fade. The eventual result will be a human being free of ego domination. This is real freedom.

An Average Person's Life

In the case of the average person, ignorance of spiritual identity, egoism, attachment, aversion and clinging to things and people in life are constant and sustained. This is happening and appears as normal because everyone for the most part is following the prompting of the subconscious based desires.

If any part of an average person's life or material standing is threatened, the typical response is fear without any reflection. The idea is to intercept these feelings when they arise, resist them and substitute the fear with feelings of love, self-discipline and generosity. In other words, to be free this lifetime requires vigilance and effort. If you become lazy, forgetful and are not consistent, the old habits are revived.

As you grow stronger in your determination, afflictions become weaker and dormant because you are no longer responding to them. Constant discipline results in a state of equanimity, which cannot be disturbed by such promptings. No one can achieve this state of mind for you. It takes constant attention, patience with your ego and a deep love for your spirit. It can be done.

Intense Practice

To achieve any talent, it requires intense practice. This holds particularly true when we aspire to reach a state of mind called self-mastery. What is intense practice? It involves deliberately overcoming the natural tendencies of the body, emotions and mind. If we have not learned to control reactions, the senses knowledge and performing devotional acts alone will not free us.

What are we overcoming? The reactions from conditioning and hidden subjective memories. If we are not consciously aware of our reactions and do not have control of our senses, they will ultimately takeover our consciousness. It will be very difficult to feel peaceful. Self-study includes the observation of one's own behavior as well as the psycho dynamics of the mind.

If you are not already writing in a daily journal, I suggest that you do so now. Two journals are ideal. A diary that keeps track of your human nature is like a sharp sword. You will be able to detect what is robbing you of your own control. Check your mind constantly for worries and delusions. Recording observations about yourself helps you do this. When you see your concerns in black and white, it provides you with an opportunity to correct the daily mistakes. Also, keep a second diary for your spiritual and intuitive insights, dreams and visions.

Can a personal sense of self-worth prevent soul evolution?

In my opinion, yes. Your personal sense of self, whether it be a 'less than consciousness' as a human, or the belief of soul, the judgment will stand in the way of any true happiness, realization and freedom. Lives are destroyed because of abuse experienced beginning as a child. To understand what has happened to you or a friend is to understand why the feminine energy of the God equation has been thwarted in your evolution. Yang energy has taken over humanity for at least 7000 years.

Today, the male needs the nurturing comfort of the yin energy and many females need the empowerment that the male energy naturally has to offer. There is only One God but...the Supreme Being in matter-duality has two aspects that are constantly exerting themselves. Forget what gender you are and use the power at the moment you need. Abuse diminishes empowerment. If you were abused by your parents, the abuse more than likely has manifested over and over again through other people. Sometimes, it is so subtle that you do not realize that you are being held back.

Sometimes the abused will overcompensate in specific areas as such as the amount of food they eat, the material things they buy, wasting money and the sexual partners they cling to. Because they feel limited in their own nature, they place themselves in situations where it appears as if they are not worthy. They attract the undesirable. They will also use the excuse that it is not spiritual to respond to the abuser or to stand up for their rights. They will continue behaving as if everything is OK, not focusing only denying what is really destroying them on many levels. The abused lose their dignity and sense of self. The good and healing qualities of the spirit are denied because deep down within they feel betrayed. The typical attitude of one with a low sense of self worth is denial. They attempt to glide through life not paying attention to the fact that they have accepted being a target for abuse. One day the pain will be too much. The eyes will open. They clearly see what has been falsely created and realize that they are deserving and enough is enough. It is then that good change and soul evolution can continue.

How Do You Feel Love When You Don't Feel Good About Yourself?

The inconvenient and tragic part about a low sense of self esteem is that it can begin the moment you arrive on the planet. If the parents are not spiritually attuned to the higher frequencies of love and wisdom, they can easily influence their children creating emotional damage. I personally feel that the confusion, anger, habitual problems particularly emotional ones that are so prevelant today are the result of an individual not having a clue as to his own spirit identity.

Spiritual ignorance has been the normal consciousness for the majority of souls on the planet. If you are oblivious to who you really are, your evolutionary background, your body of Light, or the difference between the higher Nature and the lower nature,or your purpose in the flesh how can you really know what love is? Money, fame, material gains, friends and family only offer temporary pleasures and frequently a love that is not true. A permanent peace or genuine love of the Self occurs gradually as the mind awakens to its true energy, the higher Self. If knowledge regarding identity and defining love is ego based, there is not a balanced interchange.

To instill the truth of your spirit identity into your thinking and subjective part of the mind, you will need to tap into the hidden reservoir of the super conscious part of your mind. You do that through prayer, meditation, study of sacred texts and self-study. This is a vast subject that will remain only an intellectual one until you surrender your lower nature to the Creator of your higher Nature. It is up to you to cultivate devotion towards the Divine. Not devotion to an idol or a person but devotion to the Supreme One, Light, who is your very breath. At the same time, recognizing, accepting and being the light and beauty you are will definitely help you fall in love with your own energy as a child of God hidden in matter.

Feeling of Reality

Feed your mind with positive assumptions. Presume your desire is true. Feel it. Remember, to change events in our third dimensional world, we must first change them in the fourth dimensional reality. Time is one way we can measure the arrival of a fourth dimensional object or experience. Change is also a characteristic of the fourth dimension. Imagine your desire as a living energy.

The third dimensional world is really a shadow of a more fundamental and dimensionally larger world. You can prove what I am writing about by focusing your attention on an invisible state and imagining that you see and feel it. If you really concentrate, your present environment fades and you will become aware of a larger world where the object or desire of your heart will be observed as a concrete reality. Shamans practice this knowledge. It is a form of time travel as well.

When we explore our inner mind, time and space are altered. To change our physical lives, we need not only to be aware of the world of matter, which is limited, we must awaken to a new way of thinking and feeling in the world of infinite possibilities and perceive with our spiritual senses. The two compliment each other. The more we exercise our spiritual senses and the invisible, the greater the benefits we experience in the world of the physical senses and visible.

Obedience to the Voice

Most people cringe when they hear the word obedience. In a positive sense, obedience to the inner Voice will help you fulfill your desires. The spiritual aspect of who you are speaks to you through the language of desire. This is also true regarding base desires as well. The wise man knows the difference. If your thinking mind assumes something is true, the fourth-dimensional self will find ways to make your desire to come true.

If the mind is undisciplined, it will not be easy to assume a state which is not recognized by the physical senses. If this is your case, there is still something you can do. You can change your future through a clear idea of what you really want. The next step is to see yourself in some activity that compliments your idea after it happens. Thirdly, relax, close your eyes and feel yourself actualizing the desire as action. You are not an observer in this case; you are performing the action. So, action follows desire. You must really feel the action. Make it vivid.

Remember, this discipline is done while your body is very relaxed. Feel yourself right in the moment fulfilling your desire. What does it feel like to have your desire fulfilled? It is the spiritual self that is feeling it because your physical body is in a near sleep state. In fact, keep up this feeling as you actually fall asleep. You will experience what you desired and imagined in the flesh now as an action in the fourth-dimensional world. You will re-enact it in the future, here in the third-dimensional world.

Fourth Dimensional Thoughts

Have you ever through dream, vision or intuition caught a glimpse of a future event?
If you have, it is proof that some events are predetermined. This has always interested me particularly when so many events predicted by psychics do not happen in the third dimension. Because the fourth dimensional experience does not manifest in the third dimension of time and space, it is a good indication that we are able to alter the future.

It is helpful to know that there are more than on possibility, the future can be altered. It is becoming more and more evident that the future is altered as a result of attitude and consciousness. Everything that happens to us is a result of our concept of self. A change of concept will change the future. Our assumptions are the creative energy which mold what personally happens. It is comforting to know that we do have a choice regarding the future.

The outcomes in life are commonly determined by the lower sense nature. The more we exercise our higher spiritual nature, the greater our ability to disentangle our minds from the evidence of the thinking mind and focus on the invisible state of mind feeling and sensing it. The vision is completely independent of the lower nature and spiritual discernment will show us the things of spirit.
