There is an effective mental tool that will help create a powerful healing. It is the tool of detachment. I know this is much easier to say and write about then actually do. It is well worth the effort to develop detachment and have it handy in your tool kit of self-help. When we learn detachment, it is much easier to heal ourselves and help others to heal. I am not insinuating that you put on armour and shield yourself against the feeling nature. The type of detachment I am suggesting is a form of compassion and understanding. If it is a serious personal issue, hiding behind armour won't work for the long run. You may have convinced yourself that you are not wounded but, the wound will fester in the subconscious part of the mind until a future moment when you are ready to face what happened. You may at a future time react passionately to an experience not having a clue as to why it is upsetting you so much. The current experience is tapping into the long ago pain that was not acknowledged and healed.
What is meant by detachment from my point of understanding is to get the personality out of the way and deliberate force your self to view the situation from a higher perspective. To be successful, we must be still. To be still is to be in a peaceful state of mind that understands a higher power is capable of coming into the drama and bringing the necessary ingredients so all involved are healed. It is vital that we understand and learn to detach from the influence of negative emotions. Yes, I have mentioned that our emotions serve us in myriad ways, but they can also hinder our goals when we become so embroiled in their influence that we can no longer be objective. This is why I strongly suggest that the personality get out of the way and the situation be analyzed and felt on a detached level that transcends mortal thinking and feeling.
Negative emotions can stagnate the soul. They can influence, twist and even block any movement forward. I know as a fact that we frequently store away in our memory box events and people that are too upsetting to take out and look at. Eventually, we look at them and let go. Damage control is stepping out of our own "story" every once in awhile. The dramas of life are often created to force us to look at the old chapters in our personal book and rewrite them. The damage is conditioning, false judgments and belief systems that work against inner peace. We have written volumes. A good thorough editing is required every once in a while to help us restore balance. Believe it or not, on some level of your being you have chosen an environment and family that will force you to take charge of your own emotional and mental nature.
I am actually stating two views both of which are necessary. One, is to allow ourselves to feel when a horrific event occurs. Sometimes our position in life does not allow this. Or...we judge at that moment that it is beneath our stature to reveal our inner pain. Two, do our best to understand ugliness at a higher level, the level of the spirit. Denial will work up to a point. Eventually, the explosion will surface. We are feeling creatures. Truth whether hidden or revealed forces us to look at our wounds, forgive and smile.

Wounds as Disrupted Energy
The ideal is to have our energy flowing effortlessly. The direction and modulation of human energy flow begins in the mind and is empowered by the mind. If the mind is in a confused or negative state, trouble manifests in the physical body. I always refer back to the Indian concept of human energies mentioned in the Rig-Veda dating back a couple thousand of years ago. Their experiential knowledge states that there are three types of energies concerned with balance of body, mind and soul. Prana, the vital energy, which is similar to glue holding us together is the first type. Prana flows through its circuitry and conveys the soul's willful, emotional and intellectual functions. The goal is to consciously control our senses. If we are inconsistent and neglectful, which is a form of abuse, they become the effect in the physical form, the environment we inhabit.
When we learn to control our emotions, consciousness gradually expands and we function from the core of our being, which is ideal. The currents harmoniously run through our energy centers. The spinal cord is a reference for the second type of energy, the Kundalini energy. It is aroused from its latent state and rises up the spine through the invisible energy centers when we meditate or learn to control energy through yogic practices. The Kundalini feels like heat and is quickened by spiritual pursuits and is basically concerned with creative energies. The third state of energy health evolves around selfless love, devotion or a focused passion. The student achieves a very high concentration of energy through discipline and a profound and personal experience of the sacred. Western thought, which recognizes the brain and the immunological system as the seats of human consciousness, differs from the Indian thought, which considers the nonphysical chakras as centers of consciousness. The energy centers quicken awareness as space-consciousness, emotions and inner movement that harmonizes and lifts the energy of the participant.
Healing our energy fields is a large part of the spiritual connection. The brief description hints at the complexity of our identity on a physical level. The repetitive use of creative imagination has repeatedly proven to heal wounds both within and without. If there is someone in your life who is a constant irritant, imagine the two of you tied together with a heavy rope on a bare stage. Next, imagine an authority figure of your choice walking towards the two of you with a large scissors. Give permission to the authority figure to cut the ropes that bind you to an unhealthy bond with this other person. See the ropes fall to the floor. Embrace the other person and forgive. If you have trouble forgiving, try and understand that the harsh relationship would never have occurred in the first place if you both were wound free. Do this visualization as often as it takes to achieve the desired result. You will know by the lack of emotional reaction and the new found sense of peace.

Who is the Abuser?
There are people who attract abuse all their life. They blame others for their pain. The question to ask is who really is to blame? I feel abuse is a soul issue. If there is something amiss in the soul, whether it be from a long ago forgotten time or experiences remembered, there is a definite imbalance in the energy field. Something serious is obstructed. If an individual feels good about his or her self, abuse is not attracted or allowed. Somewhere in the soul's journey the imbalance has occurred. It is likely that the imbalances have been of a repetitive nature. Disturbances in the energy field remain unless addressed. It is vitally important that we free ourselves from the hurt, anger and the wounds people and events have directed toward us. Even more important is the abuse we direct toward ourselves. Why is abuse in any form accepted? Once accepted, it is similar to a malignancy.
I feel that humans allow injuries to be stored in the subconscious through lack of a higher knowledge of mental law, which also includes a spiritual ignorance. Spiritual ignorance is not understanding your soul identity and the purpose of life. When understanding is lacking, wounds fester and the human hasn't the faintest clue that he or she is the one who is the abuser. A soul's journey is not honored if abuse is allowed in any form. The physical body is the temple for the soul and the spirit. How can true love, joy and harmony exist if the body, mind and soul is not honored? Who takes the time to analyze what is really going on? Many people do not understand that their thoughts and behavior are undermining the very structure of their being. It is easier to blame another rather than looking at one's own pattern of reacting. When one is both the abuser and the abused, a state of inner disorder continues to attract pain, lack and confusion.
Forgiveness is the angelic road that leads to healing. If we do not forgive others and ourselves, we create strong and unhealthy bonds that continue into future experiences. It is in the forgiving of our lower nature, the ongoing mistakes, that will help us realize that an inner state of disorder is abuse. What is even worse is that the disorder is accepted as normal. The goal is to bring order out of disorder. People get so used to being hurt and in pain that they do not realize the depth of healing that is needed. They become too wounded to care. When we are wounded, we consciously cut ourselves off from our true Source, God. Forgiveness is a beginning~

The Sweetness of Healing
The majority of events that manifest in our lives were first an idea, a thought. I would wager that most people have some form of guilt lurking in the subconscious part of the mind. We have heard about a fall in consciousness described in the Bible. If we accept this teaching without fully understanding it, a sense of unworthiness may influence the good that we deserve. From my inner understanding, the fall of consciousness has more than one meaning. First, it was the choice of intelligence in the subtle worlds to descend and experience matter. Second, every time that we do something to harm our self or other life, it is a step downward, a diminishing of our light. Not understanding this subject creates a veil that will frequently prevent an individual from being healed or helped in a much needed way.
A true healing comes with an understanding that we are in essence... holy. There is no major spiritual growth if the emphasis in healing is strictly on the removal of a physical-emotional-mental problem. We may receive a bandage, temporary comfort, but it the cause behind an affliction that must be addressed. The cause can occur either during this life experience, the womb or prior to the womb. Illumination and conscious oneness existing in the flesh is our purpose in being here on earth. Compassion and grace heals many a broken heart, mind and body. I know through experience that a hereditary weakness can be overcome. I know that when we forgive our self and others, we can be healed. It is necessary to clear out all the dark corners of the mind.
I love the Holy Spirit. It is the comforter, Light in action. When the heart is changed and a lesson learned, we may experience the healing grace of the Holy Spirit. A bestowal blessing of Grace is offered to the afflicted and he/she is released of the hindrance. The body is a temporary vehicle, actually a temple. It's real purpose is to serve the inner spirit. To experience the love and comfort of holiness is beyond amazing. The feeling is awesome, personal and transforms the consciousness of all that are touched by it. In my opinion, the only true healing is the healing of the mind and soul, which liberates the spirit. It is also true that we cannot separate the fragrance from the flower. The ideal is to experience a healing in both the mind and the body. It is then that the healing is permanent.

Exhausting Karma
Many years ago, I met a woman in her sixties who was severely injured when she was seventeen and living on a farm. The injury was in her spine. Yet, she married and had four children. She lived every day in pain rather than have surgery and perhaps end up in a wheelchair. This was her choice. The day I met her, I knew that the effect of a very old cause was played out. Karma, guilt, judging one's self will eventually exhaust itself at a certain point of balance. She had achieved inner understanding and forgiveness of self although she consciously had no clue of her previous act of harm against another person.
This is how the balancing act works. We carry in our soul a database of countless memories that bridge thousands of years. If a human does not understand that the cause of a problem can be exhausted, suffering on different levels will continue. The proof of my understanding is in the endless stream of physical, emotional and mental healings experienced by humans all over the world. This also explains why many people are not healed.
Remember, there is only one Mind but many levels of understanding. Because of a lack in understanding nature and universal principles, imbalances eventually appear for the purpose of correcting the individual consciousness. When consciousness is enlightened, healings visibly and tangibly manifest. I was given a vision of the cause of her long years of ongoing suffering. I shared the vision informing her that the cause was exhausted. The message was to forgive self, accept and honor the body and be whole again. As the result of her trust and faith in the message and forgiving her self, she was completely healed. My friend has been without pain and mobile for 103 years. She is a gracious, humble, beautiful and a very thankful soul.

First Step
Get out of your wheelchair! Most people have crippling memories within the soul and mind that have prvented them from being their true and whole Self. By facing, forgiving and releasing the pains of the past, we can heal and move forward in a new way that benefits rather than stagnates. Pains become obvious in our reactions to people, places and things. Too many people waste time focusing on past and hurtful memories, protocol, laws and useless things that work against a balanced energy. If all along we had a conscious understanding of our true identity as spirit, divine mind imprisoned in form, the journey may not have been so difficult and long.
We are an integral part of Divine Mind, Universal Substance, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. All that is in matter is a reflection of this marvel. It is the truth of our own existence and potentiality. If we had been more focused on the inner reality as our actual truth, the real higher Self would be obviously evident.
It is time to wake up from the lost years and live in the present realizing the truth of spirit identity. Most people are like the blue jay I saw remaining on the sidewalk. I asked him if he could fly. He was staying grounded in a traffic area where anyone passing by could step on him. He eventually flew up to a low ledge on the retention wall along the river. The blue jay reminded me of people who could easily fly if they chose to do so. Why not choose to fly now?
