If you have a clear understanding of the various aspects of the mind, primarily the subconscious part, you will reach a scientific perspective of the process called healing. The subconscious is waiting for you to feed it with suggestions. It has complete control of the functions, conditions and sensations of your body. Now, some people upon realizing its power become frightened and look upon the subjective almost in fear. What you need to remember is that it is simply reacting, responding and subsequently creating as a result of your belief system and state of mind. The cause of disease takes place in the mind. The real healer is the subconscious mind. Natural law or self-preservation is a function of the subconscious. Your strongest instinct, survival, is powerful. Befriend this universal healing principle and observe what happens in all walks of your life.
There are hundreds of healing methods. Healing normally takes place when there is a confident expectancy. Expectancy triggers a powerful suggestion to the subconscious part of the mind and the healing potency is released. When you bring all the healing methods together, it boils down to faith. Whether that faith is in a person, place, thing, prayer or angel, a miracle will manifest if there is enough faith. It is all about belief. If the healing power is in our own subconscious mind, why don't more people make use of this knowledge? Because they usually expect complicated answers and treatments, rituals or something mysteries said or done. Miraculous healings are due to imagination and blind faith, which act on the subconscious mind, releasing the healing power.
If all disease originates in the mind, it figures that it is back to the mind that we must go. The opposite of healing can also occur and symptoms of a disease created through hypnotic suggestion. This should be a wake up call. Since it is a proven fact that the subconscious mind responds to the thought of conscious mind, perhaps more of us need to change our thinking. Nothing will appear on our body or in our life unless there is a mental pattern corresponding to it. This healing principle is operative in all humans regardless of creed, color or race. Go back to the scripture: "According to your faith is it done unto you".

Ancient Times and Healing
People have believed through the ages in a healing power that could restore the body and mind. They believed that under special circumstances the power could be evoked. It was common to believe that it was the priests and holy men who possessed the power. Ceremonies, laying on of hands, incantations, amulets, talismans, rings, relics, images and supplications to God were the means to remove evil and bring about good. In ancient times, the priests in the ancient temples gave drugs to the patient and potent suggestions to the subconscious mind. They used weird and fantastic instructions as well as incense and oils usually out in the open under the moon. What the priest healers were obviously doing is making an appeal to the subconscious mind of the patient. Where medical skill often failed, suggestions worked because it fired the imagination of the patient. The result would be an emotional state, which triggered acceptance and belief.
The Bible mentions that when we pray believe that we receive and it will be done unto us. To be healed, the same steps are required. For instance, yesterday I woke up with a runny nose. It was nonstop. Strange part of this is that I haven't had a cold in about 18 years. Since I was writing about the subconscious this week, I followed my own suggestions. Everything abnormal was cleared by the time we were ready to have dinner. I planted a seed in the subconscious of perfect health and offered thanks assuming it was being immediately taken care of. As Jesus would say, "According to your faith is it done unto you". Faith is accepting it is being taken care of right now even though our reasoning and senses may deny the situation. What we do with our faith in any desire is to co-operate consciously with the subconscious part of the mind with expectancy, deep inner feeling and conviction that the situation will be resolved.
Jesus and other healers have stated to their patients not to discuss the healing because they may be subjected to skeptical and nasty comments from people who are unbelieving. If other people hurl thoughts of doubt and fear at you, the anxiety may undo what the subconscious has done. If there is an internal mental change, whether positive or negative, it will manifest in the body. It is an automatic response. The subconscious mind will respond to your belief whether you are with a healer, alone with your faith or at a shrine. Suggestion will also arouse the imagination and bring about a healing such as drinking a special water, reciting a specific prayer or touching an object that has been blessed. Imagination, expectancy and faith will create a healing. The healing will remain permanent only if you hold firmly onto your belief. This has and will continue to happen to people even if all the clinical tests previously proved negative.

The Elements of Man
In the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism it is said that the elements, which make up man, produce a capacity for pain. The cause of pain is our craving for individual life. You are probably wondering what desiring individuality has to do with causing pain. What the Buddha is referring to is the result stemming from the soul's separation from its Source. The Infinite and Supreme Source is perfection and unity. When a soul strays from the center point, the Source of Life, he begins to diminish his balance and light. Looking at the ailments of mankind from this perspective, the cravings of individual existence and forgetting our origin is actually the fall in consciousness that scriptures describe. The greater the intensity to do things that stem from selfishness, the greater the biological fall.
People forget to make room within themselves for the Divine Reality. Desire and cravings frequently surpass those of any animal. Looking at who we really are and our higher purpose, a new understanding will make sense regarding degenerative diseases. It becomes obvious that the majority of civilized human beings do not live in harmony with Divine Nature. When we separate ourselves from the Source, we experience disastrous consequences for the most part. God is the Great Physician. The keener our awareness of this fact, the more rapidly the body will mend itself. Does the Divine become sick? No. Our Source is the fountain of life, health and joy.
We require faith, certain disciplines and changes in habit to create a transformation in emotional and physical health that is permanent. It is true that the wide variety of tools and practices today will give us relief but a requirement of wholeness is to change and lift our consciosness. If you become disappointed because you do not heal immediately, it could mean that more is expected from you. Healing is a partnership. You probably do not like the word test. Sometimes, healing requires more patience, trust and lifting our mind out of the muck and mire of robotic thinking to make the desired change. Even if the illness is the effect of a long ago cause, it can be healed if you evolve and believe. A new virtue may be required of you. Emotional problems with all there aspects need to be removed. Guilt hidden in the subconscious part of the mind brings resistance. I have worked with people who are healed of very serious disorders. When they start feeling guilty about their past or even present behavior, the healing can leave them.
Have a wonderful weekend!

How to Make Prayer Successful
It will take both imagination and faith to make a prayer successful. We need to create a mood where we feel that our desire is being fulfilled. If we hesitate, doubt and don't fully accept as true what we desire, it won't work. For instance, if you are trying to help another through prayer, mentally shout his or her name several times in your mind. See the person in your mind balanced as you intuitively tell him or her his good fortune. Then imagine the person telling you in a normal voice the good that has happened to him. Make your conversation a healing reality.
What you must have is a clear mind and feel the truth that the state of balance or whatever it is that is needed has been received. I know it is a mental conversation but mental conversations that are felt with passion and acceptance regarding having been received, we objectify. By your accepting that it is done actually wills the means by which it is done. Mentally talk to your own self in time of need and mentally talk to your friends as though your desires are accepted by them and are in the process of actualizing. If you really accept that a healing is taking place, the spirit in which you accept this as truth manifests the new reality.
You must be confident. To be confident requires you to look past the physical appearance, put aside your fear and negative feelings. It requires absolute trust, faith and imagination. When you are confident regarding a cure or change, your attitude does more than any medical treatment can accomplish. If you or the patient is overly emotional or overly intellectual, the senses take over. Doubt creeps in and everything is null and void. Actually, if the patient is basically doubtful or negative in his thinking, direct your subconscious suggestions to him silently and secretly when the patient is absent. The last thing you need in helping another or your self is to be up against an antagonistic belief. Don't tell the patient. Also, it is best not to tell others if you are working silently and secretly on your own healing. It is strange but true that sometimes it is better to keep the objective part of the mind in ignorance of the suggestion being direct at the subjective.

Angels & Faith
I believe that the current interest in angels is part of an on-going effort of people to find peace. It is one of many ways the Invisible Hand of the Divine guides us. When we are in a state of mind to receive help in any form, we receive from the Divine an experience of the connectedness between the physical and spiritual worlds. We can also be touched through very high and subtle levels of interaction from celestial beings in vision, dreams and in some cases, out of the body experiences.
This can be a distraction if it becomes your focus. Meaning, we can become caught up in the pleasure or the flattery. Although the experiences give us hope and make us feel like we are loved, I suggest that you do not indulge in experiences with celestial beings. I say this because our purpose in the flesh is soul progression and to develop a will for perfection. Perfection in my way of thinking becomes a reality when we merge the Higher Nature with the lower nature. The Higher Nature becomes the power in control. It is not visions and occult experiences that we must cultivate. If we become attached to admiration of the invisible life, we might become complacent regarding our own spiritual growth.
At the same time, pay attention and notice your dreams or premonitions. Do you hear voices giving you words of encouragement or perhaps feel or sense an invisible support around you? Believe in these experiences. Celestial help exists all around us. By accepting this fact and opening our spiritual senses we can become aware of them. One purpose they serve is to remove the scales from our eyes. Simultaneously, it is prudent to develop discrimination and reach a place in mind where we understand what is important in our development and what is a distraction along the way. The supernatural is fascinating, but our own developed love for God and Faith is what matters. Even in difficult situations, depend on your Faith in the Lord to do what's best.
